In reply to <a href="https://cloviseditorial.com/novel-length/#comment-1276">googletest</a>.

This is an excellent question and I could probably write an entire blog post with my thoughts and suggestions, but for now I'll just limit myself to a few classic tricks. Some people find a ritualistic approach to be helpful and will start every writing session by lighting a candle and spending a few minutes meditating. Other people will start with some free writing to get non-writing related thoughts out of the way. I find playing specific music that's appropriate to my project a good way of getting into the right headspace. Once I'm in a bit of a groove with my writing, I also find it helpful to stop mid-scene so that the next day I'm just picking up where I left off rather than having to figure out where to start next.
Hope that helps!

First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a
quick question that I'd like to ask if you do not mind.

I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your head before writing.
I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting
my thoughts out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
Appreciate it!
